5/1/2016 - Opening Day
What an amazing day this is! Today was the culmination of years of dreaming and a year and a half of very hard work. Over the last week we put in a lot of hours, had a lot of volunteer friends, and had a lot of sore backs from putting the finishing touches on our brand new office! We officially open our doors tomorrow.
ACAPS was an idea conceived almost five years ago by a therapist and a former financial planner as a way to deliver more accurate diagnostic and treatment services. The plan for ACAPS was hatched to be an innovative treatment model designed to provide a multidisciplinary diagnostic approach that is not currently offered anywhere in Western North Carolina. Once we have phased in every part of our diagnostic and treatment process, every patient who enters our clinic will receive a full psychological assessment including a medical work up, and their case will be assessed by our full team before treatment recommendations are made. Our team will include medical, psychological, therapeutic, and alternative treatment professionals. This multi-faceted approach allows every patient to have an incredibly complex and accurate diagnostic tool that gives the patient access to treatment recommendations unlike any that is widely available in our area.
Opening day for our clinic is an especially huge event as we have been working out of several smaller offices over the last year and we are finally able to bring our vision together and begin to work as a comprehensive clinic. Over the next several months, we will begin to feature stories and editorial on this site that will give you personal insight into the type of problems patients come to our clinic to have assessed. Every story we feature comes from real patients who are dealing with real issues. At times their names have been changed to protect their privacy, however they all write their stories willingly to give you insight into the problems they have faced.
We invite your input at our Facebook page and we are always welcome your telephone and email inquiries about what you like and what we can do to help. Thanks for reading our Testing 101 page and we look forwarding to seeing more of you in the future!!

11/1/16 - We Are Growing!
Our first six months at our new location has been amazing! We have grown so much faster than we initially anticipated, and have loved every minute of it. If you have been a patient, you may have noticed some new faces around the office. We have welcomed Debra Ayers, an incredible addition to our front office who manages scheduling, patient relationships, and new patient registration. We have also welcomed Jeremy Pearsall, Program Specialist, whose unique position supports relationships with referral sources, helps to develop our our intrastructure as we expand, and supports all of our clinical staff. We also welcomed Ron Pallick, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, who works with couples, families, and individuals struggling with alcohol and drug addiction.
Because of our expansion in staff and demand, we are currently reassessing our physical space needs. We are hoping to expand in our current location and provide a larger and more accomodating clinic to facilitate our growing staff and patient base. We appreciate the patience of our patients, referral sources, and supporters while we expand and find new and more efficent ways to serve those in need.
Last but not least, we want to send a very special THANK YOU to our patients, referral sources and to those who have worked with us over the last two years. We will officially celebrate our TWO YEAR anniversary in December of 2016 and there is no way we would have made it to where we are without your kindness, patience, and support. As a small business, we work 24/7 to keep things running in the right direction. We rely on your referrals, support, and belief in what we do to continue ACAPS. You have all been very good to us over the past two years and we cannot thank you enough for your support!
As always, don't forget to check back with our Facebook Page for updates.
